While visiting the Belmont Shores Easter Dog Parade (More to come on that trip) we noticed a group of people fighting to stop seal clubbing in Canada. Who knew this was still going on? We thought this stopped back in the day. Spartacus said he thought the only things the Great White North is still known for are Hockey, Shania Twain, death by moose attack, legal 18yo drinking, great health care, and a whole bunch of people who say “abootâ€. According to their site over 200,000 seals will be hunted and killed this year. Sounds kind of messed up don’t you think?
Spartacus wanted to clear up the term “seal clubbing†or “clubbing sealsâ€. This post is not talking about clubbing seals as seen in this short video.
