The story of Spartacus starts with a little
game called Cardboard Kitty. What is Cardboard Kitty you ask?
Cardboard Kitty is a game that some of today’s youth or really intoxicated adults play to pass the time. In order to play you need three components.Â
1) A cardboard cat with reflective eyes, tin foil is commonly used.Â
2) A dark medium traveled road.Â
3) A nearby hiding place where you can still see the cat but out of the view of oncoming traffic.Â
Proceed by placing the cardboard cat in the center of the road and wait. Once an unsuspecting motorist approaches, the headlights from the car will reflect off the cardboard cat’s eyes, and then the car will do one of the following:
1) Pay no mind and plow right over the kitty
2) Come to a screeching stop, step outside and move the kitty
3) Swerve to avoid the kitty, while just missing large objects on the shoulder of the road or oncoming traffic. This is where the good hiding place comes in handy.
4) Come to a stop, step outside, and proceed to steal your kitty
Although this is damn funny you can only imagine what the cat endures mentally. (CardboardCat.com does not condone or agree with this game. Please do not try this at home.)
As you have probably already figured out, Spartacus was once a participant in Cardboard Kitty. He experienced all of the outcomes of the games, as listed above. He escaped his abusers the way most cardboard cats do. By being left on the side of the road after the game lost its thrill by the participants.
After the escape, Spartacus roamed the streets aimlessly looking for direction. He didn’t get along with most, because his social skills were shot due to the horror of CBK (cardboard kitty). This drove him to hang with the wrong crowds including local gangs. He first joined the Bloods where he was slangin’ rocks and cappin’ punk asses for steppin’ up. He then left the Bloods and joined the Crips because he really liked the color blue instead of red. While he was hangin’ with the Crips he moved up in ranks to an OG. At that point he was rollin’ on dub spinners, slappin’ ho’s, and bumpin’ NWA on his 15″ Vega’s. Here are a few vintage shots.

At that point all hope was lost for Spartacus. His demise seemed inevitable until he was picked up for walking the streets without a collar or tags. Instead of locking him up or euthanizing him, Judge Milian (Yes from the Peoples Court) enrolled him in our Cardboard Kitty Rehabilitation Program.
Spartacus has come a long way from that shy, skittish, and sometimes aggressive cat. Now he is on a mission to enjoy life by traveling, sharing his adventures, and putting his CBK nightmare behind him. He would like to help out organizations that try to help others in need and will try to help out as much as possible.
Please enjoy the adventures of Spartacus the cardboard cat.
